HYGARD® laminated polycarbonate sheets are high-performance security glazing solutions engineered to deliver proven resistance to ballistic impact, forced entry, and sequential physical attacks. Constructed from multiple layers of polycarbonate, or polycarbonate combined with acrylic, HYGARD products are designed for environments where safety, durability, and clear visibility are critical.
Progard Plastics is an Australian customer of Plaskolite and is authorised to import and supply HYGARD laminated polycarbonate products throughout Australia.
All HYGARD laminates incorporate TUFFAK AR abrasion-resistant hard-coat technology on exposed surfaces. This protective coating helps maintain long-term optical clarity while providing resistance to abrasion, chemical exposure, graffiti, UV degradation, and surface yellowing. The hard-coat also improves cleanability and durability in demanding security environments.
HYGARD containment-grade laminated polycarbonate sheets are all-polycarbonate constructions tested to ASTM F1915 and HP White TP-0500 standards. Unlike glass-clad security glazing, HYGARD laminates resist spalling and white-out after repeated high-energy impacts, allowing a clear line of sight to be maintained during an attack.
Manufactured using premium TUFFAK polycarbonate sheet produced for high optical quality, HYGARD products are engineered to perform in high-risk security glazing applications.

HYGARD CG (Containment Grade) laminates provide three levels of protection and are proven to resist severe forced-entry, containment, and smash-and-grab attacks. These products are extensively tested to demanding containment standards, with hard-coated surfaces designed to resist weathering, abrasion, and graffiti.
HYGARD BR (Ballistic Resistant) laminates are UL® Listed for three levels of ballistic protection and have achieved the highest containment and forced-entry performance for extreme detention and correctional applications. BR products are tested to ASTM F1233, ASTM F1915, HP White TP-0500, and are UL 752 Listed.

Tuffak Hygard CG375 (Formerly Makrolon Hygard CG375)
Hygard CG375 containment-grade sheet is a 0.375˝ thick, two-ply all-polycarbonate laminate tested to ASTM F 1915, ASTM F 1233, and H.P. White TP 0500 standards. Unlike glass-clad glazing systems, this laminate resists spalling and white-out after repeated high-force impacts, helping maintain clear visibility of a threat during an attack.
All Hygard products are manufactured using TUFFAK polycarbonate sheet designed for high optical quality in security glazing applications. Exterior surfaces are protected with a proprietary TUFFAK AR abrasion-resistant hardcoat, which improves cleanability and provides resistance to surface damage, chemical exposure, and graffiti. Hygard CG375 is supplied with a seven (7) year Limited Product Warranty covering coating failure, delamination, yellowing, and hazing.

Hygard CG500 containment-grade sheet is a 0.500˝, three-ply all-polycarbonate laminate tested to ASTM F 1233 Class 1.5 for contraband passage and Class 3.2 for body passage. Hygard® CG500 has also been evaluated to H.P. White TP 0500 Level A (.38 Special) and ASTM F1233 Class HG1 (.38 Special) for ballistic performance. Unlike glass-clad glazing systems, this all-polycarbonate construction resists spalling and white-out after repeated high-energy or ballistic impacts, helping preserve visibility of a threat during an attack.

All Hygard products are manufactured using TUFFAK polycarbonate sheet engineered for high optical clarity in security glazing applications.
